I have ethics approval from an external body for my research. Do I still need to get approval from UWA?

Yes. UWA approval is required even when the project has been approved by an external agency or institution.

All necessary approvals from UWA ethics and other committees must be obtained prior to commencing any research that requires specific approval (see Graduate Research Training Policy). This applies even if your research is conducted externally to UWA, including at a local institution, interstate, or overseas.

If you have approval from an external agency or institution, you may only need to apply for recognition of your existing approval from the relevant UWA committee, but you must receive UWA approval before commencing that research.

You can Add goal as a reminder to obtain your UWA approval in the Milestones and goals section of HDRhub. Once you have obtained UWA approval, select the goal and click on Submit evidence of completion.
