Proof of English proficiency for admission to UWA as an international undergraduate student

Is my high school English sufficient proof of proficiency for admission to UWA as an international undergraduate student?

It depends on what your high school English qualification is. Only satisfactory completion of certain qualifications are considered acceptable demonstrations of English Language Competence for entry to UWA. This is the case even if English is your first language. Submit your original results with your application if they are not listed on our website and we will assess for English proficiency on a case by case basis.

Do not assume you have met UWA's English Language Competence requirements even if have undertaken degree studies elsewhere, where English was the primary language of instruction.

Those who can provide evidence that they have studied for more than two years at a tertiary institution where English is the primary mode of instruction may be considered eligible for UWA's English requirement. Such consideration will be made on a case by case basis.
